Must have knowledge of Human Resources processes. Must possess exemplary leadership skills and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
REPORTS TO: Associate Superintendent for Human Resources
JOB GOAL: To provide effective leadership and support to the Associate Superintendent in providing a quality Human Resources Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources to plan, direct, monitor, coordinate, and assess all activities and operations of the Human Resources Department.
Provides supervision of HR personnel and works collaboratively with staff to ensure an atmosphere of continuous quality improvement.
Provides leadership and support for district personnel to ensure the successful operation of the department.
Organizes professional development activities for Human Resources personnel in their respective departmental areas to ensure that they are aware of and understand current updates as it relates to Federal and State legislative statutes and procedures.
Works with staff to develop work schedules, be responsible for payroll, and approval of employee leave.
Supervises all employee recruiting activities for the district including reconciliation of expenditures.
Organizes and supervises the interview process for all initial principal vacancies within the district unless assigned to other personnel.
Supervises and maintains the Human Resources Department web portal.
Collaborates and plans the annual social for retiring employees.
Serves as the initial point of contact for resolving employee grievances.
Reviews and monitors the application process to ensure that the district maintains a quality data base that is continually updated.
Serves as a point of contact for school administrators regarding the teacher evaluation process.
Collaborates with various Central Services departments’ staff members to work for continuous quality improvement.
Attends and participates in the regional and state Professional Administrators of North Carolina (PANC) association.
Assists with planning, development and revision of personnel management policies and procedures.
Provides leadership in developing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive plan that includes goals, strategies, and evaluation procedures for all personnel.
Serves as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer-driven, and valuing diversity.
Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Auditory acuity at a level to function effectively in all forms of communication.
