Cumberland Hospital is looking for a qualified Patient Navigator who will be responsible for educating prospective patient and families about their insurance coverage, the service authorization process, and guiding advocacy to ensure patients are receiving the appropriate level of care. As well as work with insurance companies to authorize patient care for admissions to the hospital.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of medical terminology, rehabilitation treatment, clinical science/pathology and psychiatric disorders.
- Understand how to gather and analyze data.
- Must be able to articulate and show assertiveness when communicating to families, payors, therapist and physicians both verbally and in writing.
- Comprehensive of conveying treatment priorities and the ability to make sound decisions balancing patient and family needs with available resources.
Education:
Bachelors degree in related field or RN with experience in Case Management.
Experience:
Four years or more experience in nursing, rehabilitative services, mental health counseling, marketing or admissions.
