What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents?
Cumberland Hospital is looking for a qualified candidate for our Senior Accountant position. The Senior Accountant is responsible for the efficient operation of the Accounting Department through maintaining the General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and managing Accounts Payable & Payroll functions.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for the General Accounting functions, including but not limited to General Ledger, Payroll, and Accounts Payable
- Accurately prepare account analysis on all balance sheet accounts monthly
- Prepares monthly GL Close Journal Entries
- Assists processing of Accounts Payable & Payroll, functioning as backup when necessary due to absence of employee or volume of workload
- Assist in Annual Budget preparation, Annual inventories, monthly Sales Tax return preparation, and monthly Financial Forecasting
- Maintain professional attitude and assist with staff education regarding department budgeting, expense variance analysis and FTE management. Prepare weekly FTE Report and analysis
- Ensure all corporate deadlines are strictly adhered to, communicating with appropriate corporate staff when problems arise
- Establish, manage and monitor safety standards, processes, communications, training and systems for employees
- Performs other duties as assigned / required by this position.
