Job Statement/Summary |
The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all management aspects of his/her team. The Assistant Coach must assist the Head Coach with practice, games and recruitment of players each season in accordance with University and NAIA rules and regulations. Assistant Coaches must make prospective student-athletes aware of all policies and procedures in the University Regulations and the Athletic Handbook. |

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |
This is a twelve-month position reporting to the Head Coach and Athletic Director. The Assistant Coach must have a strong commitment to Athletics and exceptional independent judgment, problem solving, planning skills, and the ability to effectively motivate student-athletes. The Assistant Coach must have the knowledge to teach the sport and the ability to recruit. The Assistant Coach must display professionalism in all aspects of the position. |
Experience |
1-3 years of collegiate level wrestling and/or coaching experience preferred, along with NCAA and NAIA rules regulations |
Education |
Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred |
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions |
Requires standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying and climbing, reaching both high and low. Frequently requires walking and balancing. Work is conducted in a high-paced and very stressful environment. Assistant Coaches are generally in high-profile positions. |
