Cumberland is seeking a dynamic and passionate Development Manager to join our nonprofit organization. As a Development Manager, you will play a key role in creating and implementing initiatives to promote our mission, engage community members, and drive fundraising efforts through channels that include digital, mail, and in-person. Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Business or experience in a related field.
- Proven experience in non-profit fundraising and/or sales/marketing, demonstrating relationship development, stewardship, and outreach success.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with fundraising principles and donor engagement strategies.
- Outgoing and engaging personality with confidence to interact face-to-face with individual and corporate donors.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare written reports on development and outreach activities to track and assess progress toward goals.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Passion for the organization's mission and commitment to making a positive impact through community engagement and fundraising.
Key Expectations/Responsibilities:
- Maintain a portfolio of donors and leverage community engagement opportunities to drive new donor acquisition, retention, engagement and meet targeted fundraising goals.
- Produce and coordinate compelling fundraising campaigns across digital, in-person, and traditional mail channels.
- Maintain a monthly social media calendar with content and posting.
- Engage in direct fundraising to meet an annual combined revenue goal from campaigns, appeals, corporations, and individuals.
- Maintain a program for cultivating, soliciting, and stewardship of individual donors, businesses, and community partners.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly newsletter and monthly eNewsletter
- Assist in planning and promoting events to increase attendance and engagement.
- Engage in community events through presenting, tabling, and/or networking.
- Maintain marketing collateral for community events and donor presentations consistent with the organization's brand guidelines.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with various teams within the organization to align development efforts with overall organizational goals, events, and initiatives.
- All other duties assigned by management
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Occasional nights & weekends.
- Attendance of off-site functions. Will be required to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed).
- May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 25 pounds occasionally, up to 40 pounds infrequently.
- Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 25% of the day; sitting 75% of the day.
- The employee is regularly required to speak or hear and may bend, stoop, reach, and grasp as necessary.
- Position includes exposure to parents, guardians, conservators, and youth with behavioral problems, including possible verbal or physical aggression.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $54,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
