Chama Maintenance & Facilities Manager
reporting to General Superintendent of Operations
Duties to include:
Manage safety issues for company personnel and guests in the yard- Oversee and direct the maintenance, repair and inspection of all locomotives and rolling stock
- Manage the shop crew and facilities crew, as well as provide oversight for training of crew
- Manage locomotive operations and schedule repairs as needed
- Maintain all records pertaining to the locomotives
- Manage maintenance budget efficiently/cost effectively
- Serve as a company interface working with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
- Support general operations, special charters, rolling stock and facilities maintenance
- Manage ordering of all locomotive materials, parts, shop equipment and tools
- Purchase fuel as needed for vehicles, heavy equipment and for fire patrol
- Communicate and maintain good relations with local land owners, state and county employees, as well as local community
- Provide input, as appropriate, concerning policy changes
- Maintain open communication, as appropriate, with other management staff, with the Antonito shop and with all other employees
- Responsible for overall maintenance of facilities in Chama
- Responsible for Grounds and Housekeeping
Skills and Experience:
Prefer Associates Degree in Industrial Arts or equivalent work experience (welding, machine shop work, boiler maintenance, fabrication, mechanics, building maintenance)- Management/Leadership experience
- Relevant computer skills related to ordering supplies online, spreadsheets
- Planning Skills
Candidate should have attention to detail, articulate clearly, the ability to work well with others and the ability to assess situations and find timely solutions to problems.
