We are currently looking for a Construction Contract Manager to join our growing team on site with one of our high-profile clients in the tech sector. This role will manage a variety of General Construction, Architectural/Engineering, and Consulting Services Contracts and will draft, develop, review and negotiate on the owner's behalf. They will also collaborate closely with project controls to ensure accurate monthly and quarterly accruals and provide contractual guidance in negotiating change orders for various contracts. They will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders and the project controls team to drive a cohesive and high impact contracts program. The responsibilities of this role include contract development, contract administration, collaboration with Sourcing Operations Engineering, Legal, Finance, Construction Management and Project Controls.
This position is full-time and can be remote or located in Fremont, CA. However, project locations will be spread across the United States and the world. Managing stakeholders located across all regions and time zones is a significant challenge and is key to the success of our projects. Responsibilities
- Provide contract development, contract administration and contract management support to the ICM organization.
- Partner with the Project Controls team to accurate monthly and quarterly accruals and provide contractual guidance in negotiating change orders for various contracts.
- Manage the contract – including involvement through initial price negotiations, throughout project execution, potential change orders through execution and review for compliance.
- Act as a liaison, between Project Controls, Construction Managers and the general contractor to enforce contract.
- Assist with urgent audit requests and contracts look-ups.
- Manage and respond to a high volume of daily contract-related inquiries.
- Act as liaison between the Legal Department and internal business clients and external contacts.
- Manage and coordinate various projects and contracts management responsibilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including finance and tax departments.
- Efficiently manage contract management system and procedures, including educating/training internal clients.
- Assist with beginning to end process for contracts (sometimes includes assisting with approvals or signatures/electronic or wet signatures).
- Ensure that signed contracts are finalized, including communication to relevant parties.
- Manage contract extension, or renewal and draft, review, negotiate and finalize certain forms of contracts, such as confidentiality and event agreements.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree.
- 5 years' of experience as a paralegal or contract administrator.
- 8 years' of experience in the contract or legal space.
- Experience in change management and contract management.
- Experience with various contract delivery methodologies.
- Experience in methods of procurement.
- Experience multi-tasking, reprioritizing, working independently and responding to inquiries.
- Experience extracting, conveying, and understanding information from contracts.
- Knowledge of contract administration principles.
- Experience in all Microsoft Office applications (ex: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Sign (or similar electronic signing tool).
Preferred Experience
- Construction and/or data center experience.
- Experience in EPC contracting.
- Familiarity in GMP and DBB contract delivery methods.
- Focused, self-motivated and very detailed oriented.
- Experience learning quickly in a fast-paced and evolving work environment.
