Mechanical Maintenance - 3rd Shift

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Machining Maintenance 3rd shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Jamestown, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Ensure Equipment Reliability : By troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems, you'll keep equipment available and capable, ensuring smooth operations.
• Promote Safety : Adhering to Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, you'll stop work and report hazards, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and engage in HSE training to maintain a safe work environment.
• Enhance Quality : Applying high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship, you'll perform quality inspections, follow process documentation, and provide feedback to improve preventive maintenance systems.
• Support Uptime and Downtime Analysis : By supporting equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis, you'll help identify and address issues that could impact production efficiency.
• Mentor and Coach : Acting as an informal resource, you'll instruct and coach less experienced team members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to build a stronger team.
• Maintain Cleanliness and Order : Keeping your work area clean and orderly, including performing routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks, will contribute to a safer and more efficient workplace.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement : Engaging in continuous improvement activities, you'll help solve problems, improve processes, and reduce manufacturing constraints, contributing to overall productivity.
• Foster Teamwork : Communicating effectively with your colleagues contributes to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to enhance quality, safety, and employee development.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Meets one of the following minimum requirements:

• Must possess 7 years’ experience working in the relevant Trade field.
• Successful completion of an approved 4-year, 8000 hours on-the-job training apprenticeship program with the related course of study, plus 1 year working in the pertinent Trade Field.
• 2-year Technical Degree in the related field (Machine Repair, Electrical), plus 3 years’ experience working in the field of this Skilled Trade.
• Mandatory Overtime and Weekend Work
• Responsible for troubleshooting, assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining all electrical and mechanical equipment for their assigned area using the necessary tools such as DVM's, Clamp Amp, Meggers, Multimeters, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of the NEC and IEC (National Electrical Code and Industrial Electrical Code) is required along with training, authorization, and certification in 70E.
• Knowledge and troubleshooting skills of PLC, HMI, Servo Drives, CNC, automation, and Robotic controls is required.
• Completion of PM and WO's task along with failure remarks are required to be done in the Maximo system.
• Uses a systematic approach in solving problems through data gathering and analysis for solutions.
• Must be able to make decisions based on the knowledge of schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, etc.
• Familiar with the use of various electrical tools and able to safely use them 100% of the time to perform quality inspections and/or testing.
• Needs to be flexible within the job scope to complete task in a manner that reduces or eliminates downtime and may be called on to assist other areas needed.
• Provide active training and act as a mentor for the Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
