DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Packaging Technician to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Florence, KY.
Job Summary:
Under some moderate supervision supports site packaging operations with activities ranging from: packing and re-packing process improvement, returnable packaging coordination, work area organization, identification and reporting of improvement opportunities with packaging materials, equipment or processes. Participates in cross functional collaboration from associated groups to respond to packaging related issues effecting safety, quality, and production. Actively participates in project improvement teams led by other departments including but not limited to Packaging, Purchasing, Quality and Manufacturing.

- Efficient Inventory Management: By keeping accurate inventory of returnable packaging components, you'll ensure smooth operations and reduce downtime.

- Compliance Assurance: Reinforcing compliance with Cummins Global Packaging Standards will maintain high-quality packaging and reduce non-conformances.
- Quality Support: Providing information for non-conformance reporting will help identify and address packaging issues promptly, ensuring product quality.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Working with Engineering and Quality teams to identify and resolve packaging non-conformances will drive continuous improvement.
- Preventive Measures: Developing and implementing action plans to prevent packaging defects will safeguard production part quality and reduce waste.
- Safety and Environmental Stewardship: Adhering to HSE standards and promoting a safe work environment will protect your colleagues and minimize environmental impact.
- Team Contribution: Communicating effectively and participating in continuous improvement activities will foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations
- Must have or be able to obtain certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (reach trucks, order pickers, pallet rider, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, generating reports and advanced level computer skills
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience
