Job Description
We are looking for a talented Senior Supplier Development Engineer to join our team specializing in Quality for Cummins Inc. in Troy, MI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways :
- Relationship Building : Strengthening connections with external suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to enhance quality and business outcomes.
- Supplier Selection Support : Assisting in the cross-functional process of selecting suppliers for various components.
- Manufacturing Collaboration : Working with external suppliers to ensure their manufacturing processes meet engineering standards and customer requirements.
- Quality Planning : Utilizing APQP processes, AIAG tools, and Cummins specialty tools to develop zero-defect components within the supply base.
- Continuous Improvement : Contributing to product and process improvement projects using methodologies like lean and six-sigma.
- Supplier Audits : Conducting audits to mitigate risks, ensure supplier readiness, and improve supplier performance.
- Quality Improvement Plans : Supporting initiatives to enhance supplier performance and address quality issues.
- Problem Resolution : Leading root cause analysis, developing corrective actions, and verifying their effectiveness to resolve supplier-related quality challenges.
