Position Overview

CUMULUS MEDIA | KNOXIVLLE has an immediate opening for a full time Digital Sales Manager to support the Knoxville Sales Team. The ideal candidate will prioritize digital sales excellence by collaborating with Market Management and Account Executives to ensure effective maximization of overall digital sales revenue. You’ll coach fellow sales team members on effectively selling our suite of digital products and providing ongoing product support/digital education to improve sales team knowledge and confidence in presenting digital solutions. At CUMULUS, you will grow your current digital ad solutions knowledge into a subject-matter expertise that includes:

  • Audio Streaming and Podcast Advertising
  • Website Design, Optimization, and Repair
  • Digital Display Advertising
  • Reputation (Online Review) Monitoring & Management
  • DNA Digital (Data Driving Digital Advertising)
  • YouTube and Online Video Advertising
  • OTT (App Based & Online Television)
  • Mobile Geofencing
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Social Media Advertising and Content Creation
  • Political Advertising
  • Event Marketing and Management
  • Recruitment Advertising

In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to use your passion for new media and marketing to develop personalized, innovative, full-scope advertising solutions to meet the marketing needs of new and existing clients through the integration of digital products and services to coincide with our robust radio asset offerings.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Become a subject-matter expert (SME) of Company digital marketing/advertising platforms and offerings -
  • Step up as an effective consultant and trainer - both internally and externally - on digital tactics, benefits, and trends.
  • Collaborate daily - maintain high levels of communication both internally with station and corporate management, sales staff, as well as externally with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Coach sales staff by participating in client meetings, building relationships with top clients, and actively networking within the broadcasting industry community to identify and monitor marketing/sales trends for key digital business segments.
  • Analyze existing initiatives and conceptualize new programs or pipelines to advance the digital team Deep understanding of markets, customers, and competitors to target needs and drive sales.
  • Provide local sales teams training, planning tools, and support to reach established revenue goals.
  • Develop go-to-market strategy for a team of local account executives, providing leadership and guidance throughout the entire sales process.
  • Develop digital sales proposals
  • Become the revenue champion for the Digital Department, achieving the Knoxville market’s digital revenue goals.
  • Manage Digital Department expenses
  • Manage and collaborate with a team of local post-sale digital support team members focused on client and campaign success.
  • Manage relationships with a collection of digital partnerships and vendors
  • Oversee digital marketing campaigns and relationships with clients, ensuring successful sale, execution and results.
  • Conduct market research on trends and competitors; as well as regular customer analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of sales, marketing, or advertising experience in the field of digital marketing preferred - radio or television broadcasting industry exposure a huge plus.
  • 2 years of experience in sales or management of digital marketing teams, products and/or services
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing products and services
  • Solid understanding of the entire business-to-business sales process: pipelines, lead/revenue generation, successful closing processes, cross platform solutions, etc.
  • Excellent presentation skills are required, as are strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to prioritize and solve client issues successfully.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a team player, with the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external clients equally.
  • Strong computer skills and software-savvy - ability to learn multiple, new software programs easily; previous exposure to e-Commerce sites, CRM and digital marketing/advertising software preferred.
