Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient rounds and manage psychiatric care within SNF, LTC, AL, and IL settings.
- Partner with attending physicians, consulting specialists, referral sources, and facility staff to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.
- Assess and manage the mental health needs of residents, perform physical exams, and gather complete medical histories.
- Order and interpret lab and diagnostic tests, make preliminary diagnoses, and develop effective therapeutic care plans for mental and physical health.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments; provide injections as necessary.
- Educate patients and families on medications, care plans, and preventive mental health practices.
- Work alongside physicians and facility teams to address acute psychiatric and medical needs promptly and effectively.
