Position Description
Promotes a safe, functional, and supportive environment within the organization to preserve quality and safety. This is a non-exempt, full-time position.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintains a neat, clean, and safe environment by performing regular cleaning, upkeep and maintenance, occasional repairs and renovations.
- Frequently assembles and moves furniture.
- Sets up and maintains medical equipment and devices.
- Acknowledges, schedules, or completes work order tickets submitted through the Grapevine within 24 hours of the ticket submission.
- Performs routine checks and updates logs to include fire extinguisher tag checks, generator operation, eye wash, air scrubbers and oxygen system.
- Works directly with vendors to coordinate deliveries and pick-ups (linens, hazardous waste, etc.) and contractors to coordinate and supervise installations, modifications, renovations, and inspections.
- Submits tickets to building owner for building related issues and follows up on tickets to ensure completion.
- Maintains chemical list and ensures chemicals being used are listed on Safety Data Sheets.
- Supports and enforces all policies, OSHA rules, safety regulations and guidelines.
- Supports custodial functions when needed, including cleaning bathrooms and exam rooms, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash collection and removal, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma with one or more years of related experience and/or training in the field of general maintenance.
- Complete and maintain RCRA and DOT Hazardous Waste Management training.
- OSHA certification
- Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Exhibit independent judgement in the development, implementation, and evaluation of plans, procedures, and policies; and interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions.
- Frequently required to walk, reach, bend, grasp, push, pull, and lift 50 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with the use of a dolly or hand truck/cart. On rare occasions may lift in excess of 100 pounds as part of a team lift.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
