What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Services Technician position at Lake Havasu Community Health Center LLC?
As a member of Environmental Services, you provide a clean, safe environment for patients, visitors, and personnel throughout the ASC. This includes cleaning (dusting, vacuuming, wiping surfaces) offices, waiting areas, lounges, restrooms, corridors, and clinical areas, including surgery and procedure rooms, pre- and post-operative bays, and sterile processing areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Follow established protocols to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors.
- Follow established protocols for cleaning and disinfecting all areas of perioperative services (patient and visitor waiting areas, patient bays, operating rooms, storage areas, utility rooms, hallways, bathrooms, locker rooms, lounges, meeting rooms, and community rooms).
- Follow established protocols for cleaning and disinfecting all sterile processing areas (decontamination rooms, clean workrooms, clean/sterile storage rooms, hallways, utility rooms).
- Follow instructions for use (IFU) protocols when cleaning medical equipment
- Follow established protocols for routine, between-case, enhanced environmental cleaning, and terminal cleaning of the ORs and procedure rooms.
- Follow established protocols for preparing, using, and disposing of cleaning chemicals according to material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Follow established protocols for routine, enhanced environmental cleaning, and terminal cleaning of the sterile processing areas.
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas, including furnishings and equipment.
- Clean, disinfect, and stock bathrooms in patient and public areas as assigned.
- Discard trash following facility-specific protocols
Qualifications Required:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
Qualifications Preferred:
- Recent environmental services experience in a perioperative setting
- Recent environmental services experience in an acute care setting
- Basic computer skills

- Physically demanding, high-stress environment
- Exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and repetitive motions
