As the Controller at Cure Companies, you will be responsible for the day to day financial operations of the holding company and multiple brands, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across our portfolio of startups and ventures. You will play a critical role in financial planning, reporting, and internal controls, partnering with leadership to optimize financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Oversight: Lead all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and reconciliations across multiple brands
- Including, but not limited to: Spring House, Fat Choy, High Exposure, Padel United, and Blackwood Club
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, financial forecasts, and cost-control strategies to support business growth.
- Support the management team of each individual brand in their financial planning
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Establish and maintain strong internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate policies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to executive leadership and investors.
- Audit & Risk Management: Coordinate internal and external audits, identify financial risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Tax & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, as well as adherence to all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Monitor and optimize cash flow to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and leverage technology for improved efficiency.
- Strategic Financial Partnering: Work closely with the executive team and portfolio companies to provide financial insights and support business growth initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in venture capital, startups, or high-growth environments.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and compliance regulations.
- Experience managing audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.
