Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infant Teacher to join our team in Tigard, OR. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with infants and the expertise to create a positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. This role is essential in supporting the physical, emotional, and cognitive growth of children during their most formative years.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Exceptional Care: Deliver personalized and attentive care to infants, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met consistently.
- Plan and Execute Curriculum: Design and implement age-appropriate activities that foster sensory development, motor skills, and early learning milestones.
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Create and sustain a clean, organized, and safe classroom that encourages exploration and growth.
- Track Development: Observe, assess, and document infants’ developmental progress, sharing updates and milestones with parents and guardians.
- Support Daily Routines: Manage feeding, diapering, and napping schedules to provide structure and security for each child.
- Build Relationships: Establish trusting relationships with infants, families, and team members to foster a strong sense of community and collaboration.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of care within the classroom.
- Collaborate: Partner with other educators and staff to enhance the overall daycare experience, sharing insights and strategies.
- Engage with Families: Act as a reliable resource for parents, providing regular updates and guidance about their child’s progress and needs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with infants in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting is required.
- Education: Degree or certification in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications: Infant CPR and First Aid certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with infant developmental milestones and strategies for promoting early growth and learning.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and observation skills.
- Attributes: A nurturing demeanor, patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with infants.
