Curious Minds Preschool & Daycare has been nurturing young minds in the Portland area for over 15 years. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible childcare in a safe and supportive environment, with a focus on emotional and intellectual development. We are currently expanding our team and are looking for passionate and dedicated Toddler Teachers in Tigard

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, design, and implement engaging and effective curriculum.

Prepare detailed lesson plans to ensure comprehensive coverage of topics.

Impart classroom instruction in alignment with established lesson plans.

Supervise and maintain control over students both during class and in the absence of the lead teacher.

Assist students with classroom activities and foster a positive learning environment.

Support students during lunchtime activities.

Observe students for developmental issues and communicate findings to Head teachers.

Implement age-appropriate activities and monitor safety protocols.

Conduct research for lesson development to enhance educational experiences.

Communicate progress, observations, and any concerns to parents in a timely manner.

Maintain accurate student records and perform various clerical tasks.

Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the classroom environment.

Ensure sanitation of all surfaces, equipment, and toys.

Assist students in the development of social skills.

Assist in the creation and display of educational bulletins/posters.

Accompany young students to the bathroom as needed.

Take attendance and prepare copies of necessary materials.

Operate instructional equipment such as projectors and computers.

Maintain appropriate classroom discipline and decorum.

Prepare and distribute educational materials, including worksheets.

Reinforce learning through repetition and practice patience in the delivery of instruction.

Qualifications for Teachers:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education (preferred)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (strongly preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of child development theories and age-appropriate practices
• Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must be registered in the Oregon Central Background Registry (or have the ability to register)
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Strong teamwork and leadership abilities

Qualifications for Teacher Aides:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required), some coursework in Early Childhood Education (preferred)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting (preferred)
• Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Must be registered in the Oregon Central Background Registry (or have the ability to register)
• Positive attitude, dependable, and able to assist teachers with classroom responsibilities
• Strong desire to learn and grow in early childhood education

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
