Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller / Office Manager to join our administrative department at a growing public accounting Firm . The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. This position requires a strong understanding of various accounting principles and practices, including experience with QuickBooks and general ledger accounting, and a desire for one to help propel our business forward.
Duties
- Reconciliations of all Firm bank and credit card accounts
- Collections - issuing invoices, chasing payments for overdue client accounts
- Bill payment and management of all third party invoicing
- Collaboration with Firm Owner on a Firm Budget, and the subsequent preparation and provision of monthly financials against budget
- Managing and organizing time entry for billable professionals to ensure all billable time is captured and billed to clients
- Managing insurance renewals for CPA Firm, Legal Practice, and various real estate entities
- Oversee payroll processing for the Firm and ensure timely and accurate payroll reporting.
- Provide insights on financial concepts to enhance decision-making processes within the organization.
- Light assistance with the Firm Owner's personal financial and business interests
- Manage administrative functions of the Firm; mail pickup and sorting; supply ordering, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential; familiarity with other accounting software is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with governmental accounting is a nice-to-have but not mandatory.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate financial reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex financial information clearly.
