The controls product manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of (IoT) products. This role requires expertise in lighting technology. Work location is preferred to be in Greenville, SC.

Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Development
- Define and execute the product roadmap for Current’s controls products
- Conduct market research to identify customer needs and industry trends
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and features
- Lead voice of customer initiatives to gather critical user insights
- Prioritize product features based on customer feedback, market demands, and business objectives
Technical Leadership
- Manage the product backlog
- Work closely with development teams to ensure successful product deployment
- Stay up-to-date with lighting control innovations
- Oversee integration efforts with third-party building management systems, HVAC controls, and energy monitoring solutions
User Experience and Customer Engagement
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize user feedback to drive product improvements
- Conduct regular customer interviews and surveys to maintain a deep understanding of user needs and preferences
Integration and Expansion
- Develop strategies for seamless integration
- Coordinate with HVAC control system providers to ensure compatibility
- Feature Prioritization and Roadmap Management
- Develop and maintain a robust feature prioritization framework
- Balance customer requests, technical feasibility, and business value in feature decisions
- Communicate product roadmap and prioritization decisions to stakeholders effectively
- Continuously refine the product backlog based on evolving customer needs and market conditions
Business and Financial Acumen
- Develop go-to-market strategies for new features, integrations, and mobile apps
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success
- Contribute to pricing strategies and revenue growth initiatives
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field
- 5 years of product management experience in a technology-based company
- Proven track record in feature prioritization and roadmap management
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with lighting control systems, building management systems, and IoT devices
- Proficiency in using product management and customer feedback tools
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership experience in cross-functional team environments
- Exceptional ability to synthesize customer feedback and translate it into actionable product features
Additional Requirements
- Knowledge of the lighting industry, HVAC systems, and relevant regulations
- Experience with ERP systems and digital transformation initiatives
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand terms for various stakeholders
- Understanding of energy monitoring and management principles
- Familiarity with mobile app development processes and best practices
- Demonstrated success in implementing voice of customer programs
Compensation
The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is $108,000-$135,000.
