Job Description

Current Lighting is seeking a Production Test Engineer to join our progressive and dynamic fast-paced enterprise and device controls automation team. These are exciting times - our industry and user expectations are changing and so are we! We are developing the next generation of world class Internet of Things (IoT) connected lighting controls and applications. This is a hands-on role that will directly contribute to the development and expansion of our cutting edge, cloud connected IoT applications and offerings with the latest hardware and software technologies and tools. You will be part of our fast-growing innovative technology design center located in Round Rock, TX, a hi-tech hub north of Austin.

We are looking for a talented Production Test Engineer to design and maintain production test equipment for our commercial lighting IoT devices. This involves working closely with the product design teams as well as our operations teams to understand the product design and the manufacturing limitations and then propose and implement a manufacturing test solution optimized for cost, development time and efficiency. You will be working as part of a team, but you will own the production test solutions for several products.

This position is expected to be 100% on-site.

Essential Functions

• Create proposed test plans and test coverage reports and review them with the engineering team
• Lead the production test design efforts while gathering input from all relevant stakeholders
• Write automated production test code in LabVIEW, C or Python
• Create, or define requirements for schematics and PCBs for automated test fixtures
• Address production issues related to automated test systems already in use
• Perform tester performance analysis like repeatability, reproducibility, and test uncertainty ratios
• Use basic statistical analysis to set production test limits
• Provide design requirement and review the mechanical design of production test fixtures
• Create documentation for production operators describing how to use and troubleshoot production testers and provide support as needed
• Keep revision-controlled design files for all the production testers
• Get buy-in from the engineering team and production representatives to support proposed automated test solutions
• Acquire and process data, through automated or manual tests, to help build confidence in proposed solutions
  
  

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in electrical engineering or computer science or related discipline
• Minimum 1-year relevant experience writing code in C on embedded systems
• Minimum 1-year experience working with schematic and PCB design tools
• Minimum 1-year working experience with common bench-top instruments (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with LabVIEW and Python
• Experience working with Arduinos and RaspberryPis
• Previous working experience with production test systems
• PCB and/or mechanical design experience
  
  

Compensation

The position has a compensation package inclusive of base, bonus (if eligible), benefits, 401k contribution, time off, recognition awards and more. This salary range is 75,000-95,000.
