Coordinator of Advanced Academic & Dual Enrollment Programs (10-month, 210 days)
The Coordinator of Advanced Academic & Dual Enrollment Programs is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing specialized academic initiatives that support student success. This role involves coordinating programs such as gifted and talented education, advanced placement, dual enrollment, Scholars Academy, Early College, and other specialized learning opportunities. This position will also lead and manage the development of activities and programs that increase postsecondary opportunities for high school students.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Academics
- Design, implement, and evaluate specialized academic programs that address diverse student needs.
- Ensure alignment of programs with district, state, and national academic standards.
- Coordinates Gifted and Talented Education with the Department of Instruction.
- Develop and oversee policies, procedures, and curriculum related to specialized academic programs.
- Provides administrative oversight for Scholars Academy, Early/Middle College Concept, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment.
- Assists instructional staff in developing specialized learning activities for the purpose of enriching the learning opportunities of students who have needs beyond the classroom curriculum.
- Collaborates with administrative teams and teachers for the purpose of developing and implementing an ongoing professional development plan specifically designed to meet the needs of gifted and talented students, staff, classroom teachers, and administrators.
- Assist with professional learning sessions focused on dismantling barriers to advanced course offerings and providing equitable access for all middle and high school students.
- Collaborate with school administrators to evaluate multiple data sources for evidence of appropriate professional learning practices implemented during advanced academics instruction.
- Foster the development of future-ready skills including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and leadership with a focus on grades 6-12.
- Administer dual enrollment program with partner colleges and universities along with all CCSD high schools.
- Develop a yearly dual enrollment calendar and establish and implement a timeline and processes for all tasks related to recruitment, enrollment, retention, and reporting – including dual enrollment application, testing, registration, and enrollment roster due dates.
- Develop appropriate strategies for increasing CCSD high school enrollment; research best practices and network with coordinators in districts both locally and nationally.
- Works with both high schools in the recruitment of students into the Early College, Scholars Academy, Dual Enrollment Programs.
- Monitors student progress in dual enrollment courses.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of advanced studies programs in CCSD.
- Promote a positive working relationship with students, staff, and members of the community.
- Pursue continuous professional growth by keeping current with educational developments and literature in the field of post-secondary education.
- Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Degree in counseling or secondary administration preferred. Valid Teaching Certificate.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in education, preferably in curriculum development or program coordination.
- Strong understanding of gifted education, advanced coursework, and intervention strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with data analysis and program evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse student populations and equity-focused initiatives.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special programs.
- Familiarity with instructional technology and digital learning platforms.
