Overview: Currituck County Schools seeks a dynamic and dedicated Career and Technical Education (CTE) Business/Computer Science Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development:
- Design and develop engaging curriculum aligned with state standards and CTE frameworks in Business and Computer Science.
- Integrate industry trends and technological advancements into lesson plans to ensure relevance and practical application.
- Instructional Delivery:
- Deliver effective instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
- Hands-on Learning:
- Provide opportunities for hands-on learning experiences, projects, and simulations that mimic real-world business scenarios.
- Incorporate technology tools and applications into lessons to enhance student understanding and proficiency.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Implement formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and progress effectively.
- Provide timely feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
- Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends, teaching methodologies, and educational technologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and innovative teaching strategies.
- Partnerships and Community Engagement:

- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Education, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Valid teaching license/certification in Business Education or Computer Science (or eligible for licensure in North Carolina).
- Prior teaching experience in Business/Computer Science or relevant industry experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of business principles, computer applications, and programming languages.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
