Key Responsibilities
- Assist project managers and superintendents in daily construction activities.
- Observe and participate in site inspections, surveying, and quality control checks.
- Learn about heavy equipment operations and earthwork processes.
- Monitor and document job site progress through daily reports, photos, and logs.
- Support safety compliance efforts, including attending safety meetings and conducting field audits.
- Help prepare submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders.
- Assist in cost tracking, material procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
- Participate in project scheduling and learn how to use construction software.
- Attend project meetings and gain exposure to client and subcontractor interactions.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in heavy civil and highway construction.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on job sites.
