Electronics Test Engineer

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for the introduction of newly developed products into full production. This involves working with product design engineering to develop design verification test plans, develop Acceptance Test Procedures, develop automated Test Software, design, and coordinate the procurement of test equipment and cables and train production technicians in the use of each procedure. Test Engineers also support production line flowing. The Test Engineer must be capable of multitasking and efficiently utilizing Engineering Technicians to assist workflow.

Your Challenge
- Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
- Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products.
- Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
- Performs a wide variety of routine and semi-routine tasks related to the testing of raw materials, manufactured products, or manufacturing processes.
- Writes and designs test procedures.
- Reviews and evaluates test failures, in-process rejections, and trends, recommending corrective action as appropriate.
- Provides assistance in the areas of predictability, manufacturing processing, equipment and process improvement.
- Good understanding of network technology (i.e., Ethernet, IP)
- Experience with working with a variety of interfaces, i.e., RS232/422, IEEE-1394b, Fiber Channel, PCM, Ethernet 10/100BT GIGE.
- Experience working with Fiber Optics.
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the field of test engineering.
- Experience developing programs with Visual Basic, LabVIEW, VISIO.
- Experience creating design verification test plans.
- Experience with system tests. Experience creating production level test procedures for embedded systems and circuit cards.
- Familiarity with lab test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters).
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
