Job Description Summary

The Janitorial Uniform Technician will work under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and perform a variety of uniform and custodial duties for C&W Services. Such duties shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of C&W Services.

Job Description

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains appropriate supply of gowns and gowning supplies in gowning rooms, storage areas, and bin distribution locations
  • Keeps count of uniform inventory, stock, delivers and replenish uniforms as needed, separates damaged uniforms and gowning supplies from non-damaged.
  • Logs damage counts and usage for the uniform program.
  • Uses appropriate procedures in maintaining and distribution of Clean and Dirty uniforms, shoes covers and gowning supplies
  • Responsible for performing the day-to-day and periodic cleaning activities in assigned work areas pertaining to space around the uniforms, racks and dispensing bins.
  • Sweep, mop, and wash floors, and other surfaces (inside buildings).
  • Use light and heavy (commercial type) floor (buffers) and shampoo machines including attachments.
  • Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas. Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs. Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including periodic high dusting.
  • Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
  • Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.
  • Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
  • Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
  • Performs periodic work: High dusting, leather and wood surface, polishing, wall washing.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by Client Expectations, Supervisor or Account Manager

Requirements

  • Basic inventory control responsibilities and experience
  • Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering, organization, and high level of productivity
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and e-mail. Good communication skills to t interact with management, clients and associates. Strong writing skills are useful in preparing communication and report logs for management and customers.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
  • Basic cleaning responsibilities
  • Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team
  • Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Use a portable vacuum cleaner – backpack style.
  • Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Qualifications

  • Education: Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.
  • Experience: 1 years’ experience in a cleaner/janitorial in a lead position

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, climb flights of stairs, walking long distances. Requires full range of body motion including manual handling and lifting, finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination sufficient to stock, inventory and read small print. The position frequently requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, speaking and hearing.

The employee will occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
