Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Pay: $30hr.
- Schedule: Monday-Friday (7:00am-3:30pm).
- Will be required to operate 35-foot box truck to complete deliveries 50% of the day.
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Utilizes various technologies including but not limited to computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), FedEx, UPS, Outlook email, and Iphone for the purpose of processing shipping/receiving orders.
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers, packages items into containers using appropriate packing materials.
- Affix identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Receive, deliver and route items to various locations. May require driving company vehicle from various locations in Boston, Cambridge, and S. Boston.
- Follows customer’s standard operating procedures (SOP’s) related to regulated process.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintain inventory and tracking of shipping materials and supplies.
- May use hand truck and dolley to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
- May require lifting and/or moving objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing up to 100 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned which may include providing assistance to General Maintenance Technicians.
- Mail Room:
- Handle incoming mail from US Post Office, FedEx and UPS.
- Sort mail by Mail Stop.
- Deliver mail to Mail Stops , one located on each of the 20 floors spread between 6 buildings.
- Perform mail runs to pickup mail/packages.
- Must have experience driving 35-foot box trucks.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 1 years of relevant experience.
- Customer service and professional.
- Self-starter, motivated, team player with the ability to prioritize work.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to work independently and productively and to accept direction.
- Highly organized and excellent record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to frequently move and lift 50 pounds.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- International Air Transport Association (IATA) certification preferred but not required.
