Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Pay : $28hr-$30hr.
- Schedule : Monday-Friday (7 : 00am-3 : 30pm).
- Will be required to operate company vans / vehicles around the site to deliver packages as well.
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
- Utilizes various technologies including but not limited to computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), FedEx, UPS, Outlook email, and Iphone for the purpose of processing shipping / receiving orders.
- Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
- Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers, packages items into containers using appropriate packing materials.
- Affix identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Post weights and shipping charges, and affix postage.
- Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Receive, deliver and route items to various locations. May require driving company vehicle from various locations in Boston, Cambridge, and S. Boston.
- Follows customer's standard operating procedures (SOP's) related to regulated process.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintain inventory and tracking of shipping materials and supplies.
- May use hand truck and dolley to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.
- May require lifting and / or moving objects in excess of 50 pounds and pushing up to 100 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned which may include providing assistance to General Maintenance Technicians.
- Mail Room :
Handle incoming mail from US Post Office, FedEx and UPS.
