We are a leading manufacturer of shell and tube heat exchangers, vessels, towers, and other heat transfer components for the petrochemical industry.
Job Description
Lead a team of manufacturing professionals in the construction of boxed headers and assembly of bundles for air-cooled heat exchangers. Ensure solid cost controls are in place and regularly review actual job performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and manage production schedules for both shops
- Visit sub-contract suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timeliness align with expectations
- Verify facility, equipment, and supplies are adequate to support operation
- Directly lead supervision and department shop personnel as required
- Manage staffing levels to maintain efficient workforce
- Maintain high-levels of communication with Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management to minimize costs and ensure on-time delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical degree or 10 year relevant industry experience
- 5-7 years' experience directly supervising welding of boxed headers
- 2-5 years' experience operating MIG, TIG, and/or SAW welding equipment
- Understanding of costing elements in labor and material for building headers and bundles
- Knowledge of ASME VIII section 1 for boxed headers and hydrotest requirements
- Knowledge of welding and metallurgies for boxed header production
- Ability to implement efficient methods of boxed header manufacturing
- Ability to read and understand prints and specifications
- Ability to effectively supervise and manage workforce
- Familiarity with working within an ERP environment for schedule and BOM requirements
