Busy tax and accounting practice in Tomahawk, WI, is looking to add a very client-service focused professional to join our team - in primarily an administrative capacity and a bookkeeping role – to service our business clients’ accounting needs.
This Admin Assistant & bookkeeping role involves responsibility for coordinating the office tax return process – ensuring the tax team has the information they need from clients and that all client questions are answered along the way.
-Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring all paperwork is put into our tax and DMS software when a client drops it off and a folder is started for each of them.
- Monitoring and tracking the tax return and bookkeeping process from start to finish.
- Printing out data base reports for all the different types of tax returns and updating them with the status of each return
- Checking to make sure that the files are where the reports say they are
- Going to the Post Office for pick-ups and to the bank for drop offs (deposits) as needed.
- Printing out tax returns and have them ready for pick-up
- Sending returns to clients for electronic signature
- Checking email and phone messages every morning and responding back to clients in a timely manner for any questions or concerns.
- Greeting clients in person and help with client tax return pick-up and payment when needed.
- Mail out planners/organizers to clients who request them.
- Making sure to have clients sign documents such as our Engagement letter, provide a copy of their driver’s license, Social Security number, phone number and address etc.
- Along with tax duties employee will be assigned bookkeeping clients, including reconciling bank accounts, and creating financials in QuickBooks for our business clients.

- High School Degree
- Very tech-savvy e.g. knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, & Zoom is essential
- Display excellent written and verbal communication skills as there will be a lot of interaction with clients via email, phone and in-person.
- Ability to manage your time effectively and function well under high pressure busy situations.
- Self-starter attitude with ability to complete basic tasks independently without management oversight.
- Pleasant personality and ability to work well with other team members and clients.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 45 per week
