Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other needs. Duties
- Provide direct support and personal care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Monitor clients' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Assist clients in engaging in social activities and community involvement to promote independence and enhance social skills.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, family members, and other caregivers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive relationship built on trust and respect.
- Perform basic first aid when necessary and assist in hospice care as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving or direct support roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Basic cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for clients.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and first aid procedures is a plus.
- A background in nursing or social work is beneficial but not mandatory.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
