Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Bookkeeper to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will manage our financial records with accuracy, ensuring the seamless operation of accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. This role requires an individual with strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Bookkeeper will report directly to the Controller or Finance Manager and will be a key contributor to maintaining financial health and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Maintenance:
- Record all financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and receipts, in the company’s accounting software.
- Ensure all entries are complete, accurate, and categorized correctly.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Management:
- Process vendor invoices, verify payment terms, and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor and manage receivables, issuing invoices, and following up on overdue accounts.
- Bank Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare routine financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management review.
- Payroll Support:
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including maintaining employee records and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with management to support budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis reports.
- Compliance & Tax Preparation:
- Assist in ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable tax regulations.
- Support external audits and prepare documentation for tax filings as required.
- Internal Controls & Efficiency:
- Establish and maintain financial controls and processes to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Recommend improvements to streamline operations and reduce manual errors.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to address and resolve accounting or billing-related issues.
- Data Accuracy & Analysis:
- Conduct periodic account analyses to identify and correct discrepancies or errors.
- Provide insights and suggestions to improve financial performance based on data trends.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant, or similar role (3 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve problems independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with internal teams and external vendors.
- Experience with payroll systems and tax compliance is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.

Schedule:
- Full-time (Monday through Friday)
- 8-hour shift during standard business hours
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
