Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to lead our growth initiatives and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset and a proven track record in business development, project management, and customer relationship management. This role requires strong negotiation skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive results.
Duties
- Develop your own leads.
- Call on large potential customers that can spend with us a minimum of $250,000 annually in HVAC business. Customer segments might include, general contractors, developers, builders, property managers, municipalities and school districts, government organizations, and any other entities that control a lot of HVAC spend.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company goals.
- Identify new market opportunities and establish relationships with potential clients.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to ensure mutual benefit.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Utilize Salesforce for tracking sales activities, managing customer relationships, and reporting on business development progress.
- Collaborate with sales teams to align business development efforts with overall sales strategies.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growth.
- Foster a culture of collaboration across departments to enhance overall business performance.
Experience
- Proven experience in business development or related field, with a strong understanding of market dynamics.
- Proven background in closing the sale
- Demonstrated ability in project management and successful execution of strategic initiatives.
- Proficiency in customer relationship management practices and tools.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in collaborating with senior leadership to drive revenue growth.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities.
- You likely have little to no experience selling to a homeowner. This is a much different sales effort. This a B2B sale.
