JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Custom Concrete is seeking a hardworking, dedicated individual to join our team as a Safety Coordinator. In this role, you will assist the Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations. Safety is everyone's responsibility, and as a Safety Coordinator, you will help train and develop our safety program.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with all divisions to reinforce and grow our safety program, holding everyone accountable for setting an example.
- Promote safety awareness through internal Safety Blitzes, Toolbox Talks, and other training initiatives.
- Maintain a safety reference library to provide accessible safety resources and support to all personnel.
- Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety training programs.
- Stay updated on federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes.
- Assist the Safety Director in developing annual company safety goals.
- Conduct safety and quality audits at job sites, including concrete analyses, proper PPE usage, and routine work practices to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state OSHA regulations.
- Possess basic knowledge and understanding of general construction.
- Operate a smartphone and tablet, and generate appropriate reports using a computer.
- Work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Climb in and out of basement excavations (6-10 feet deep) using dirt ramps or stairs.
- Perform daily tasks in wet and muddy conditions.
- Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, and bring problems to the attention of the Safety Director or HR Manager.

Required Education and Experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience in safety compliance and OSHA/IOSHA standards
