General Summary: Opening for Full Time/Day Shift Laser Operator on our Fabrication Team. We are seeking quality conscientious individuals who are versatile in working with metal. Cutting stainless steel and aluminum on a Bystronic Bysmart 4020 6000-watt machine with automated material handling system.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements and qualifications listed below are representative of the essential duties, knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Determine proper arrangement of orders according to production schedules and work orders.
- Read, interpret, and understand work orders, drawings, and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Review all nests for sheet utilization and accuracy prior to running machine.
- Pull from stock using the forklift correct materials for job queue.
- Perform nesting of parts at the machine using Bystronic Software.
- Cleanup and grind parts as required.
- Ensure part counts are accurate.
- Nozzle centering and lens cleaning.
- Unload laser and check for quality of all parts produced.
- Complete order request forms for needed inventory.
- Identify needed maintenance of machines and ensure that parts are ordered and replaced.
- Performs card shots, tape shots, etc. to trouble shoot performance issues.
- Follow good housekeeping practices.
- Identify and resolve basic quality issues.
- Follow all safety policies and use protective equipment as required.
- Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
- Laser operation experience.
- Work history of exceptional attendance and able to work overtime when necessary.
- Ability to comprehend engineering drawings.
- Ability to perform measurements using tape measure, protractor, square, calipers and other measuring devices.
- Ability to operate a manual crane hoist, forklift, and hand-truck.
- Effective communication skills to provide information to supervisors, leads, co-workers in written form or verbally.
- Detail oriented and organized is a must.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to perform functional tests.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills verbally and written.
- Ability to work in and around trucks that may include lifting up to 50 lbs.
