Laser Operator
For nearly 80 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. We have remained busy and now are currently seeking a Laser Operator to join our energetic and skilled Truck Scale Department on 2nd shift!
As a Laser Operator at RLWS, you would set-up and operate a laser cutter to cut metal materials. This would include importing and editing programs on the laser, identifying preventative maintenance points, performing nozzle alignments and testing. In this position you would need to evaluate the cut quality of the parts and address any issues with a supervisor. In this position you may also need to assist the Laser Assistant in loading, unloading, operating overhead cranes and forklifts as needed. Other duties would include operating other machines such as cutoff saws, drill presses and semi-auto grinders, and moving parts to stocking locations. The Laser Operator works in a manner in which quality of work and safety are top priorities by following procedures and work instructions and keeping the work area clean and organized. The Laser Operator works in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team. Other functions as assigned.
This position will work Monday through Friday with core hours of 3:30 pm – 12:00 am with overtime as needed (until 2:00 am).
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- (1) or more years of metal working experience, preferably on a laser, plasma, or saw
- (1) or more years of use of Microsoft Office
- Overhead crane, forklift and material handling experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Good communication skills
- Good math skills required
- Ability to efficiently read a tape measure
- Ability manufacturing documents
Certificates, Licenses, Training, or Other Job-Related Requirements
No current lifting restrictions prohibiting lifting up to 50 lbs.
