Laser Assistant – 2nd Shift
For 75 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. We are currently seeking a Laser Assistant to join our energetic and skilled Truck Scale Department on 2nd Shift.
We are now offering a $3.00 per hour shift differential! This position is eligible for our new $100/week incentive based on performance and hours worked! Apply to learn more.
As a Laser Assistant at RLWS, you would help with general operation of the lasers and other machinery. You would also be responsible for operating overhead cranes to load steel and remove completed parts. Other duties would include operating other machines such as cutoff saws, drill presses and semi-auto grinders, and moving parts to stocking locations. The Laser Assistant works in a manner in which quality of work and safety are top priorities by following procedures and work instructions and keeping the work area clean and organized. The Laser Assistant works in a fast-paced environment both independently and as part of a team. Other functions as assigned.
This position will work Monday – Friday, 3:30pm – 12:00am with overtime as needed (until 2:00 am).
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Overhead crane, forklift and material handling experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Good communication skills
- Good math skills required
- Ability to efficiently read a tape measure
- Ability to read blueprints and other manufacturing documents
- No current lifting restrictions prohibiting lifting up to 50 pounds
