About the Role
Custom Marine is currently looking for a Production Planner to join our team at our Neenah, WI facility.
Responsibilities
- Works with Operations to strategically plan production based on best practices of maximizing run rates, campaign sizes, and other strategic initiatives to maximize production capacity. Develop and lead analysis using advanced analytics and data driven processes.
- Responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining the demand planning tools necessary in determining raw material, packaging, and finished good inventory levels through MRP and planning tools in the ERP system working across functionally with other departments.
- Create and maintain forecast models incorporating business intelligence and forecast information from Sales, Marketing, and Finance. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, and evaluate forecast accuracy.
- Interact cross functionally with Sales, Finance, and Operations to coordinate and develop product forecasts. Drive continuous improvement in sales analyses, forecasting processes and accuracy to positively impact inventory positions, sales, and margin.
- Works with Operations to strategically plan production based on best practices of maximizing run rates, campaign sizes, and other strategic initiatives to maximize production capacity. Develop and lead analysis using advanced analytics and data driven processes.
- Creates and maintains firm, valid, short, and intermediate-range work center schedules and production plans, both onsite and outsourced locations by using internal systems including Syteline, effectively in developing and updating production plans and schedules.
- Participates in Capacity Planning, specifically by anticipating the need for and making recommendations for changes in lead time, adjusting stock replenishment volumes, and recommending capacity changes (overtime, crew adjustments, or outsourcing)
- Works with shop floor, production supervisor, and transportation and shipping to ensure on-time and order completion.
- Works with manufacturing and sales to establish priorities regarding grades, output, uptime, loading, crewing, etc.
- Provides feedback to production and offers suggestions relative to inventory and reporting accuracy.
- Escalate inventory related topics to leadership.
- Analyzes daily scheduling problems and opportunities and facilitates problem solving.
- Releases daily schedules.
Education and/or Experience Required:
- Ability to read and understand written instructions
- Previous experience in Production Planning
- 3-10 years' experience in manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in related field is desired
- APICS or CPM classes and certifications
- Knowledge of Bill of Material structuring
- ERP/MRP system
