What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Custom Medical Equipment?
Due to growth, Custom Medical Equipment is looking for a talented, energetic, detail-oriented Durable Medical Equipment Biller with experience working with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurances. As part of our billing team you will be responsible for but not limited to:
Handle all aspects of billing including charge entry, payments and A/R management.
Effectively communicate with referring physicians, insurance carriers and patients. Establish payment arrangements and follow through to payment.
Communicate with insurance carriers regarding prior authorizations, denials, revisions and other issues as they arise.
Must have an understanding of DME / CRT (Complex Rehab Technology)
Review accounts for accuracy. Obtain & verify appropriate insured, policy, claim and billing addresses of each payer and patient eligibility prior to billing.
Follow-up on denials, incorrect or underpayments and past due receivables in a timely manner. Send files for reconsideration as needed.
Collecting payments for deductibles, office co-pays, and co- insurance.
Performing other related duties and special projects as needed.
Follow HIPAA compliance and maintain patient privacy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
