Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Laser Operator - 2nd Shift, to support the production team. You will assist with the setup, maintenance, and operation of our laser machine. Responsible for selecting lenses, load programs, and calculating machine specs and parameters based on the thickness and type of material use. You will manufacture a range of parts, ensuring they meet the dimensional specifications outlined in the engineered blueprints and schematics. Additionally, you will assist with inventory management and storage.
We are conveniently located in Oakland, FL, 23 minutes from Orlando.
Position Responsibilities:
- Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process.
- Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
- Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to management.
- Track parts and jobs into the SAP system.
- Ensure all purchased items received are accurate and undamaged.
- Perform cycle counts and audits to verify inventory is accurate and identified in the correct location.
- Process and ensure timely storage of all products received.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Operate a forklift to move and/or lift raw materials.
- Uphold all ISO standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
- Consistently produce usable products that meets the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings.
- Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure the machine is functioning properly.
- Clean the machine following safety protocols.
- Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use.
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Follow all company rules, policies, safety, and quality standards.
- Complete work priorities as assigned by supervisors.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of shield gases used during laser cutting operation.
- Stoop, lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- The ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Experience in manufacturing operating machines.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Attention to detail and focus oriented.
- Work with automated storage systems.
- Safely operate a forklift.
- Quick troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge of following blueprints and manuals.
- Knowledge in using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to solve basic math calculations.
- Well organized, analytical thinking with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fast changing priorities.
- Work well with others and work as a team.
- Display and maintain enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work.
- Must cooperate with other associates in maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience operating a Mazak, Trumpf, Amada, TruDisk/TruFlow, or similar CNC laser cutting machines.
- Knowledge of SAP system.
