What are the responsibilities and job description for the SHIPPING & INVENTORY CLERK position at Custom Truck One Source?
SUMMARY
Primary responsibility is to verify, document and quality inspect incoming shipments. This includes communicating with drivers and various departments inside the organization. Secondary responsibilities will include conducting inventory on major components and helping fulfill any logistics needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee all large component loads that we receive from outside locations
· Document any damage to the large components
· Verify all items are included with shipments
· Communicate any discrepancies to drivers and CTOS team
· Sign and approve any documentation needed
· Assist with large component inventory needs
· Assist with logistics team demands
· Maintain consistent communication with supervisor
· Have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements while creating a safe work environment
· Maintains professional appearance and represents the company by professional demeanor, being courteous with all those coming into contact
· Reports accidents to management immediately
· Participates in all available training programs
· Must work with and for all departments in harmony
· Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Shipping, receiving and inventory experience
· Microsoft applications proficiency preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must also possess the ability to speak effectively with carriers and employees of the organization. Must speak, read, and understand English.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Detail oriented and organized in work. Must have acceptable written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results. Must have initiative and the ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Must possess a strong desire to learn.
