Description
We are seeking an entry-level Drafter/Estimator to join our Maple Hill, KS team!
The Drafter/Estimator is involved in pricing/estimating project costs and assumes duties that result after the salesperson has made the sale. The position also supports drafting in a CAD based software called Microvellum. Position will draft frameless commercial and residential cabinet projects to produce shop drawings. The position interacts with all levels of staff.
There is never a dull moment, as each cabinet is custom. Attention to detail, cabinet construction knowledge, professionalism and quick thinking are essential.
Essential Functions:
- Pricing frameless cabinet projects from submitted designs utilizing proprietary software program.
- Creating job production drawings in Microvellum.
- Coordinating with Project Managers and Estimators to accurately complete drawings as ordered.
- Interacting with other drafters on larger projects and communicate with Designers for clarification.
- Thoroughly understanding Custom Wood Products’ cabinet construction methods.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in CAD drafting preferred
- HS Diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to read/interpret commercial plans
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CAD program(s), with ability to learn technical proprietary software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Detail oriented with the ability to focus on and maintain accuracy
- Ability to understand product catalog and pricing system
