What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at IMI?
Primary Accountability :
As an Estimator at IMI Industrial, you'll help our teams achieve our project objectives by requesting bids from suppliers. You'll anticipate specific requirements for new projects and ensure our bid strategy supports our budget requirements. You'll be a valuable member of our team, developing and maintaining strong partnerships with vendors and subcontractors and making sure we understand their abilities and capacity to perform work for us. We'll appreciate your solutions-oriented approach, your estimating know-how, your impressive relationship-building, communication, and teamwork skills, and the way we can count on you to get things done - and get them done well.
In this role, you will :
- Support Pre-Contract and Operations with project costs and pricing objectives
- Utilize tools to create bid comparisons
- Build and develop vendor relations and strategies
- Select appropriate vendors for bidding various needs in concert with internal teams
- Develop RFQ documentation for vendors and suppliers
- Develop budgetary cost models
- Assist in submission of bid projects
- Build tools necessary for efficient budgeting
- Present cost models to internal operations teams and leaders
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation throughout the project
- Partner with Applications Engineering, Purchasing, and Field Services teams to meet specific needs and scope of each job bid
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees and department managers.
