Duties:
- Provide assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, hair care, and dressing.
- Ensure skin care, oral care, and nail care are managed according to client needs.
- Assist with toileting, bladder, and bowel needs when required.
- Help with transfers, positioning, and mobility, including use of mobility aids or assistance during walks.
- Ensure safety during all transfers and mobility tasks.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Ensure client remains hydrated by assisting with fluid intake.
- Assist with bladder and bowel management.
- Monitor for any signs of illness or infection.
- Help with light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning of equipment.
- Ensure infection control practices are followed.
- Be prepared to follow emergency procedures (e.g., tornado, fire) and ensure the client’s safety.
- In case of absence, coordinate backup staffing options with CustomCare.
- Ensure the safety of the client at all times, especially when using transfer devices or assisting with mobility.
- Follow the emergency plan and keep client secure during any situation.
- Provide assistance with transportation to appointments and errands if required.
- Ensure safe travel, including seatbelt use and necessary support.
Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of resident rights in assisted living facilities
- Familiarity with social work principles and practices
- Proficient in taking vital signs and documenting them accurately
- Understanding of various body systems and their functions
