Job Description:
Summary
Oversees and manages the organization, administration, planning and development and general effectiveness of the Physical Therapist Assistant program working with the Deans and Associate Deans across the College. The position provides leadership to assure accreditation standards are achieved.
Essential Functions
- Monitors enrollment and works with College wide curriculum development and with Associate Deans to create faculty and student development opportunities
- Assists in the recruitment and evaluation of adjunct faculty, recommends class assignments, builds and maintains relationships with career centers, high schools and other feeder programs, universities and industry to facilitate articulation, transfer and employment
- Facilitates implementation of College AQIP and strategic plan processes, and performs other duties to provide a quality, effective program that focuses on student learning and the mission and goals of the College
- Maintains the program schedule and adjusts as needed to meet the needs of the students and the program
- Ensures the program meets and maintains accreditation (CAPTE) standards and all appropriate documentation is submitted
- Maintains required BCI and up to date immunizations
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Master’s degree
- Currently licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Ohio
- Minimum 5 years (or equivalent) of full-time, post licensure clinical experience
- Currently in contemporary Physical Therapist Practice
- Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience
- Completed the equivalent of nine credit hours of coursework in educational theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment
- Demonstrated experience in administration and/or management
- Possesses excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to develop and manage a departmental budget
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and time efficiently
- Ability to recruit students and promote student success
- Proficiency in work processing and presentation software internet and e-mail
- Ability to be creative and exercise initiative
- Possesses strong organizational and time-management skills
- Works accurately with great attention to detail

- Ph.D of Science in a Health Career related field
- Prior experience with program accreditation and/or Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE)

- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;

However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
