Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsible for creating and maintaining the visual communications of the department and the College across print, interactive and broadcast media.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Creates and implements the College’s visual brand with creativity and appropriateness for a variety of media (including print, outdoor, interactive and broadcast) and target audiences
- Consults with clients to evaluate individual project needs in collaboration with Creative Director and Project Manager
- Prioritizes workload of multiple projects to meet deadlines, tracks project progress using project management software and other tracking tools and maintains files for accessibility
- Performs quality checks of final designs/proofs to ensure accuracy of content and design
- Maintains and updates internal style guides to ensure consistency and relevance of the College’s brand; provides training inside and outside the department on use of the brand
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts or related field
- Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in visual design
- Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
- Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations
- Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of Visual Design theories, concepts and practices with the ability to apply in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
- Well-organized detail-oriented multi-tasker who proactively manages his/her time while juggling multiple deadline-driven projects
- Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently
- Demonstrated intermediate project management skills
- Possess intermediate-level proficiency Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent software
- Possess aptitude for individual and collaborative work
- Possess strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite emphasizing InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

- Ability to collaborate, persuade and gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

- The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.;
- Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
Target Starting Salary Range: $55,000 to $59,000
- The final offer for the successful candidate is targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment of internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred job requirement(s).
