Responsibilities: The Data Specialist will support the operations, sales, and corporate teams with data analytics and reporting to provide information and insights for decision-making or solution development and delivery. The specialist will recommend data standards and deploy various tools (querying and data visualization) to extract, synthesize, and validate data from different sources and transform them into useful reports, data sets, and dashboards.
Qualifications / Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Data Science or related business curriculum.
· Minimum 3 years of experience as a data specialist or related role.
· Experience in the maritime or supply chain industry is a plus.
· Demonstrated knowledge of BI tools, data analysis and data visualization (Power BI, etc.).
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Access, CSV and VBA).
· Knowledge of AI tools, CRM applications and/or CargoWise One will be a plus.
· Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet a variety of deadlines.
Essential Duties: The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. Other duties may be assigned to meet changing business needs.
· Prepare required metrics and reports to support the sales team preparation of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and customer analytics.
· Prepare analysis of CVI Pricing & Procurement quotes – trends, business won, etc.
· Prepare analysis of CVI Sales pipeline – business won, revenue earned, etc.
· Assist sales department with CRM activity reports and analysis.
· Assist sales department with data projects related to lead and customer development.
· Develop / automate CVI Operations performance and productivity reports.
· Prepare Capes vessel tracking & commodity analysis reports.
· Develop/prepare Capes management KPI reporting.
· Maintain working knowledge of all CVI & Capes business lines and products.
