They pride themselves on their collaborative environment and are seeking a highly skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper / Controller to manage full-cycle accounting processes and support their growing business.
Job Description :
As the Full-Charge Bookkeeper / Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of the company. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, handling HR functions, and providing critical financial insights to leadership. This position is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong QuickBooks Desktop experience and 3-4 years of comprehensive accounting and HR management experience in a small business environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage and oversee all aspects of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare accurate financial statements, reports, and forecasts for management and ownership.
Maintain and update accounting records in QuickBooks Desktop.
Ensure compliance with relevant local, state, and federal regulations (tax filings, payroll tax compliance, etc.).
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures.
Prepare and process payroll, including tax filings and benefit administration.
Oversee HR functions, including employee onboarding, benefits management, and general HR support.
Manage cash flow, track budgets, and work with leadership on financial strategy.
Develop and maintain efficient systems for accounting processes and reporting.
Act as the point of contact for external accountants, auditors, and tax preparers.
Qualifications :
3-4 years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally in a small business or manufacturing / distribution environment.
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop.
Experience with payroll, HR management, and benefits administration.
Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with manufacturing or distribution accounting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Knowledge of HR software and tools (preferably Gusto).
