Patient Educator
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer phones, triage calls for evaluations, screenings and general questions. Transfer to correct department if not for LASIK.
- Make appointments for evaluations and self-tests via phone and in person.
- Prepares surgical charts and necessary contents for distribution to LASIK tech and surgical center.
- Ability to organize doctors LASIK schedule
- Knowledge of current procedural terminology.
- Counsel patients in person who are surgical candidates
- Schedule surgeries and send in eye drops as needed.
- Obtains patient signatures as needed or required when scheduling surgery
- Make pre op calls, collect and run payments for surgery.
- Perform any other duties assigned to accomplish the task at hand.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or its equivalent.
- This person must present over the phone and in person with a warm, friendly and caring manner.
- Previous experience using multi-line phone system.
- Successful completion of a specific orientation and on the job training is essential. Detailed oriented and ability to use a computer with ease. Microsoft Word & Excel experience preferred.
