- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their housing search and decision-making processes.
- Negotiate with landlords on behalf of clients to secure suitable housing options.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and educate clients about their rights.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to assist clients facing immediate housing challenges.
- Maintain accurate records using Yardi or similar property management software.
- Collaborate with social service agencies and community organizations to connect clients with additional resources.
- Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support throughout the housing process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations, Section 8, and LIHTC programs.
- Experience in crisis management and intervention techniques.
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing methods to effectively engage clients.
- Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management systems is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to advocate for client needs effectively.
- Knowledge of legal aspects related to housing assistance and tenant rights is desirable.
