REPORTS TO: Executive Director
SUMMARY
Performs all accounting functions for company. Maintains company financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Prepares primary financial statements for company – Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities – and ensures the accurate presentation of same. Analyzes costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Prepares company payroll. Prepares accounts payable payments. Facilitates the development, implementation and maintenance of internal fiscal systems and procedures, applying appropriate concepts, methods, and techniques. Investigates and resolves problems related to funds, budgets, expenditures, and/or procurement practices.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Identify and communicate significant financial events and/or trends.
· Record and allocate revenue and support in the general ledger.
· Record and allocate operating and capital expenses in the general ledger.
· Compile monthly financial statements.
· Prepare all necessary journal entries.
· Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
· Prepare general ledger account reconciliations.
· Assist in preparation of annual budget.
· Perform revenue and expense variance analysis.
· Assist in preparation of audit schedules for independent auditors.
· Assist in issues related to company’s audit.
· Record fixed assets acquisitions and dispositions in the general ledger.
· Calculate and record depreciation of fixed assets.
· Assist in inventory control.
· Assist in the periodic reporting of financial data to various funding agencies.
· Generate and track accounts receivable invoices.
· Prepare cash and credit card sales reconciliation.
· Prepare company bi-weekly payroll.
· Perform accounts payable invoice review and postings.
· Prepare accounts payable payments.
· Provide support to all other functional areas of the company as needed.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
· 4-7 years of accounting-related experience.
· Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
· Experience with accounting software.
· Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.
· Highly detail-oriented.
· Solid written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
· Satisfactory Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.
· Satisfactory Criminal History Record Check.
· Satisfactory Federal (FBI) Criminal History Report.
· Two letters of reference.
· Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
